WILD, WILD, WILDWOOD DAYS…
Where are you if every day is a holiday and every night is Saturday night?
Bobby Rydell got it right. There are no greater times than the days spent in Wildwood, New Jersey. The iconic New Jersey singer, still making appearances and now living in Blue Bell, PA, grew up in a house just four doors West on Montgomery Avenue from our motel – the Mar-Lane.
Twenty-seven DVC members and their beautiful MGs rested happily at Chris and Lisa’s lodge, 1-1/2 blocks from the famous Wildwood boardwalk, with the help of a case of Beck’s donated by their hosts. Gudi and Wolfgang Fischer once again acted as coordinators for this popular, annual event.
Their planning included dinner Friday night, breakfast Saturday morning in North Wildwood, a driving and walking tour of historic Cape May, dinner at the very nautical looking Oyster House (excellent food) followed by drinks and racing movies until……
How’s that for a couple of days chocked full of activity? Oops, I forgot to mention walks on the boardwalk and to the impressive veteran memorial wall across from the Convention center and breakfast on Sunday morning at a bagel café.
Tom and Jaimee Rippert were missed greatly (no underwear runs into the ocean – among other things) but Sandy and Dick Suffredini supplied the entertainment and everyone reveled joyfully.
Attendees included… Deb & Bruce Swanson; Sally & Curtis Yocum; Janet & Mark Singer; Karen & Mike Kearns; Peggy & Jay Kaufman; Gudi & Wolf Fischer; Fran & Paul Holl; Sandy & Dick Suffredini; Evonna & Paul Phillips; Cyndi & Ben Nolan; Diane & Jim Sanders; Louise Story; Patty & Pat Cawthorne; and Evelyn & Bill Webb
…AND WILD, WILD, WILDWOOD NIGHTS.
