Boyertown Auto Museum – 2013

On 16 February, Saturday, members of the DVCMG Club found their way to Boyertown, Pennsylvania to visit the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, with its collection of mostly-made-in-Pennsylvania vehicles.  The collection is housed in the facilities of the former Boyertown Body Works, where bodies for a great variety of light trucks were once designed, built, and installed on chassis of every American manufacture imaginable.  Our guide for the day was Dan Olsen, a member of the Board of Directors of the museum.  Dan introduced us to a number of unusual exhibits in the museum, including a recently acquired and restored 1930’s era diner. A gas station from the same period is also currently being restored to take its place next to the diner.  Automobiles and trucks representative of the early Pennsylvania motor industry were on display throughout the museum.

As Dick Suffredini’s photos will testify, the nearly 40 members of the club who attended seemed to enjoy the tour, which was followed by lunch at the nearby “Our Place” restaurant.
