The Tour got off to a seasonably cool and sunny start at 9:30 AM from the Singer’s house. First stop was the Manatawny Winery at about 9:45 AM. With an 11 car caravan the crew travelled over the back roads, including two covered bridges on the way to Blair Winery, which is northwest of Kutztown. A light lunch was enjoyed as the group taste tested some of Blair’s finest vintages. While paralleling the Blue Mountain the group then headed southwest and though Shartlesville on the way to Calvaresi Winery near Bernville, Pa.. Leaving Bernville the tour enjoyed the winding back roads around Blue Marsh lake and through the Oley Valley on the return to the Singer residence where dinner and refreshments were waiting. A total of 90 miles, 4 covered bridges and spectacular fall foliage rounded out a fine day with no mechanical failures.
