DVC 2015 Annual Planning Meeting

The DVC Annual Planning Meeting was held Sunday, November 22nd at the Silverdale Borough Park Building. The weather was mostly sunny, which encouraged several to drive their vintage automobiles. Graham Gill, along with his brother Garth, arrived in the oldest MG at the meeting, as they arrived in Graham’s MGTD. New member, Otto Blavier, drove his MGB and Bill Boorse drove his MGBGT. Also in attendance were Jim and Diane Sanders, Tom and Jaimee Rippert, Pat and Patty Cawthorne, Lew Phillips, Eva and Adam Ilnicki, Ben Nolan and Dick and Sandy Suffredini.

Tom Rippert opened the meeting. It was announced that Tom Rippert and Dick Suffredini will be retiring, which will be effective at the Anniversary Party in March. Chuck Goelz will be relinquishing his post as Membership. All will remain as active members. Anyone interested in volunteering to one of these posts should contact Tom Rippert or Dick Suffredini. It was also announced that Paul Holl will serve as editor for event write-ups. Lew Phillips discussed the website and announced that doing away with the Yahoo site is being considered; this would be incorporated into the DVC website. Patty Cawthorne shared good news from the club’s treasury and reported that the club’s finances are healthy with a budgetary surplus. It was announced that event reimbursements would be increased to up to $175. The remainder of the meeting was dedicated to determining the 2016 calendar of events of which a tentative schedule was made. Events discussed for this year included a Craven Hall Tour, the Anniversary Party, the Spring Tech Session, a return to the Marlane Motel in Wildwood, the Hornsby Rally, the Pennypacker Car Show and Post Pennypacker party, a Picnic with the Philadelphia Glider Club, including flights, a Fall Foliage Tour, the Guy Fawkes Bonfire and the Holiday Party.
